Waiting to Try… But pouting while I wait.

I really want to have another baby. I don’t know why, but for the last two months or so, I’ve just had this BURNING baby fever. It sucks.
I know I can’t have another baby right now. The first reason, is because my little guy is only seven months old and he was born via a cesarean, so obviously, I need to wait and allow my body to heal more, that way I can attempt another VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean).
The second reason, is money. We’re kind of broke right now, and debt is pretty consuming at this point. It’s not very easy to deal with and it just kind of sucks all around, you know? We need to get out of debt.
Third… I need to get my associate’s degree finished. And get better grades next semester. I did pretty crappy this last semester, which sucks… But what else can I do, you know? Between all the medical problems I had last semester (my son was hospitalized with RSV, I got the swine flu and I had my appendix out) I just didn’t do so hot.
Fourth… Space. We don’t have ROOM for another baby. We live in a one bedroom house. It’ll have two bedrooms soon… but the second bedroom is INCREDIBLY small, and long. So… We need more space before we can actually think of having more kids… Especially since we have a boy and a girl… They can’t share a room forever!
Fifth… I’m still working on certifying as a birth doula… I need to finish that training! So, it’s kind of important that I get it all done so I can start making a little money.
So, I’m coming up with goals for everything.
1. Time:
Danny needs to be 12 months before I even consider trying for another baby, and only if other goals are met!
2. Grades:
My last completed semester of school needs to have grades of all C’s and above. Hopefully chancellor’s list… But at the very least, C’s and above.
3. Money:
I need to have at least $5,000 saved up.
4. Training:
I need to finish my birth doula certification and start making money. I can’t make money to save if I don’t finish the training!
I think, if I can meet these goals then everything will go alright and we’ll be ready to try.
It sounds silly, but just typing all of this out really helped me feel better about my decision to try. And it also made it feel not quite as far away in the future as it had before I wrote it out! At least now, I have some concrete goals and a written plan that will determine when I have the go-ahead to try!
Had an AWESOME day!

Holy wowza. I have been BUSY!
First.
We gave Karwei to a really sweet couple. He wasn’t getting the attention he needed because of how crazy busy I am, and he wouldn’t stay in our yard, and at night he was barking and the neighbors got really mean about it and it got pretty crazy. But anyways, the important part is, he’s somewhere where he gets plenty of attention now, and that’s the important part! I’ll miss him, but he’ll be happier with this other couple!
School is going great. I’m really excited about it. I’m still getting GREAT grades.
Hopefully I make Dean’s list again!
I went to homecoming tonight! I know, I’m not in high school, but they needed chaperons, so I did it! I did three of the girls hair (they looked awesome!) and then I went home, grabbed the baby carrier, and put a cute dress on! Danny went with me! He was very popular! He slow danced with Allison, Chelsea, and Mommy! And then he had dozens of other dances with everyone! It was fun! My job was to tap people when they’re doing things they shouldn’t (making out… Dirty dancing…) and pretty much just mingle and keep an eye on everyone. I got to dance too, which was awesome. Allison and Maryah both danced with me.
I had to tap 44 kids. It was INSANE! I forgot how hormonal teenagers can be.
But yeah, I guess the other chaperons liked me, because I look young enough that I can get in the middle of the group on the dancefloor and it not be obvious. So, I’m going to start chaperoning more dances!
And tomorrow? We’re going to Janelle’s for turkey! Should be fun!
Painting the house…

So, these are the pictures I took when Dan and I were thinking of buying the house…

Partial Living Room

Other side of the livingroom, with door leading onto porch.

Kitchen

Dining room, and a view of the bathroom door and bedroom door.

Bathroom

Bathroom Sink

Mariah taping down tarps.

Painting inside the closet... That was the second hardest part!

Painting the vaulted cielings was by far the HARDEST!

The bathroom after I painted... Looks way better.

The kitchen after I painted.

The side of the livingroom... Pardon the mess. We're unpacking.

The side of the living room that faces the lake. I took down those hideous curtains.
The Newest Addition to Our Family…

Okay, I promised pictures! We have a new addition to our family. His name is Karwei and he was born in the begining of June and we got him on August 16th!

Karwei. Our newest friend.

My lack of posting…

So here’s my long lost update. I haven’t been keeping up lately… Which you will understand why, shortly!
I moved into my new house! I will post pictures… eventually. I don’t have internet at home yet, not until the seventh, so I don’t have the kind of access I need to do so.
I spent three days painting it! Painting vaulted ceilings is a LOT harder than it looks! And our paint got messed up. Dan told me I could choose a shade of white, and only white, so I picked one called “Peach Froth,” he got five gallons of it. It looked peachier than the card but I just thought it’d dry whiter. We needed one more gallon to finish up on day three. He got it, and it was the wrong color! I went back to get it fixed and it turns out, the first FIVE gallons were wrong! They added extra red. So I got more color on my walls! HA! Take that Mister Dan-Man! Fate was in my favor!
We have a new dog. I’m not sure if I posted anything about him, but his name is Karwei. He’s black with speckled feet. He’s a sweetie. We had him tied up the first few days, but he was whining so much we took him off the lead. We were afraid he would run off, but he didn’t! And he’s stuck around for two days. I think he knows where home is now.
Anyways, I’m crzy busy with school. I think my anatomy class is going to kick my butt. Heh.
I’ll post more once I have my own internet.
Freezing? Yes!

Guess who got a freezer? I DID! I was going to go buy one, and I saw an ad for one five times the size of the one I could buy brand new! So my uncle Joe and his friend who are visiting from Wisconsin, and my grandma and I went and picked it up today! It’s in good condition. Works just fine! Needs a good scrubbing, and need to buy screws to put the hinges back on… but for five times the freezer space?! Heck yes! I’m so freaking excited.
It is now my ambition to fill the entire thing up with milk!
Ha! Dan would kill me if I filled the entire thing with milk. That would be a LOT of milk. So I’ll probably just fill SOME of it up with milk. I have to finish filling up all of the medela bottles for Danny’s back up supply (I keep finding more floating around, just when i thought I had the last of them!)
Dan’s been working on a few things on the house. There’s some stuff that has to be taken care of before we can close on it and Dan agreed with the owners to help with those things. So, he spent his last day off working on that. He’s going to spend his next day or two off on it too. Hopefully it all goes good, and gets fixed up quickly!
Hopefully everything goes well. We’re 99% sure that the house is ours, but still… You never know what could happen. I just hope it all goes well and we DO get it. Otherwise we’re up the creek without a paddle!
School started. Kind of. School dosen’t really start until August 24th, but the Math course has already been posted so I started working ahead. It’s all stuff I went over and already did when I was trying to teach myself algebra… But unfortunately, I was a dumbass and threw the papers away. Ugh. I wish I would have saved them! Now I have to do them again. I’m trying to work ahead. That way I have less to stress about later!
Anyways… I’m exhausted. So I’m going to go to bed now! I want to get some more math done tomorrow before Rex comes over!
My crazy life…
Filed Under Breastfeeding, Danny, friends, house | 3 Comments
Wow. So, my life has been completely insane and hectic lately!
First, I’ve been cleaning, organizing and sorting things like a madwoman. You have no idea how crazy I’ve been getting with the cleaning, but it’s totally necessary. We have some good news!
They accepted the offer on the house! So, we’ll have the keys in about a month! I’m so excited. It’s going to be our first home! It’s freaking awesome! So, because of that, I’ve decided to slowly work on downsizing, cleaning, sorting and organizing things. Especially Maddi’s toys. The kid has WAY too many toys! She seriously has enough toys to cover the entire floor of our living room. But that’s because she’s the first grandchild on my side, and Dan’s side… She gets spoiled!
So, I’m downsizing. I sorted through some old clothes of Maddi’s and even some of Danny’s! Some get sold on ebay. Some are put in a box for a memory quilt. Some are donated the church’s clothing bank.
So, I got my MotherLover “More Milk Plus.” The stuff tastes terrible but it works! I was super impressed with it! It’s given me a noticeable difference in my milk production! I’m excited! I’ve been storing a lot. I’m going to finish filling up all the 80 ml bottles I have for Danny’s backup supply and then I’m going to keep freezing more for donation.
I nursed my friend’s baby today. She went on a short walk and baby got hungry and mama gave me the okay, so I nursed her. From everything I’ve read and researched, there’s nothing wrong with cross-nursing.
Anyways, Danny is crying and I need to get in bed! I have an early dentist appointment tomorrow!
Buying a House…
Filed Under Family, house | 1 Comment
So, I’ve come to the conclusion that buying a house is HARD! Not just how to pay for it, but the actual process involved in buying a house! It takes forever to find one… And then it takes forever to see it, and forever to be able to write an offer and then forever to get it approved or denied… The whole process just takes forever!
I have also come to the conclusion that the housing industry takes forever specifically to frustrate the living daylights out of me.
We had found an AWESOME house, with minimal damage to it… It just needed a little TLC, a couple repairs and some cosmetic work… And I wanted it so bad but the day after we were shown it the realtor called and told us that someone else placed an offer, it was accepted and that they were almost finalized with the purchase. I was really bummed out. I almost cried, I was so bummed out. A decent house for only 90k is HARD to find!
However, we found another one. A one-bedroom. 896 square feet. And if we were to enclose the porch, then we could make a small second bedroom for Maddi and Danny. It’s got plenty of land, and lots of potential. Nothing majorly wrong with it. Mostly just cosmetic things. It’s not super nice or pretty or anything… But it’s all we can afford, and it’s better than living in a gutter! I think it has potential to be very nice though… if we work on it here and there… The problem is, finding the money to work on it! Needs a lot of paint! So, we have an appointment with the lender tomorrow. I probably won’t go. I’ll let Dan do that and I’ll keep track of the kiddos and he can relay what’s said to me!
Anyways, I’m excited about this. I just really hope this one didn’t fall through like the last one. I liked the first house a LOT better, but I can’t really do much of anything about it… Just have to make the best out of what I can get!
